Team Alpha
Combat
Welcome to Combat
The combat mode holds two prime rules, the first one being that the micro mouse must move within the white rectangle situated on the matte background, this was possible because the white line following code was changed. Secondly, which is our very own group rule was that our micro mouse could only cause minimal harm to the other mice to gain points, this was done because we at Team Alpha believe that it is not ethically right to harm someone’s hard-worked product intentionally.
The combat mode in simple terms is the combination of both the obstacle avoidance and white line following methods. For this mode, the code was altered at two places. The first one being at the white line following method as mentioned earlier, and lastly the obstacle avoidance code which was altered to change the direction of the mouse to head towards the opponent’s mice. Thus, the infrared sensors at the very front of the mouse became useful to identify the mice. Our micromouse holds a front impact sensor (touch bar) which when coming into contact with a barrier or opposing micromouse causes the mouse to back off and then go back towards the area of impact. The touch bars would be mounted like so:
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the combat competition was not held. Furthermore, more information on the white line following, obstacle avoidance coding and how they were manipulated can be found on the software section.

Touch bar would be mounted at directed place, this allows a large area for the micromouse to detect an object and respond accordingly.
