Joe's Febuary Blog

This month has been very productive, and we managed to make great progress on our Micromouse. At the end of the first week we managed to achieve a satisfactory obstacle avoidance which showed great progress towards the final code draft.

The main website was also completely overhauled with an Instagram page set up to help document the development progress. The website upgrade also allowing a clean and concise display of all our documentation and development progress for our Micromouse. An ethics and sustainability page was also added to the website which highlights the potential problems of having a self-driving vehicle and what damage could be potentially caused to issues such as the environment.

After finishing obstacle avoidance, we then moved on to the white line following. We used a piece of Veroboard as a sort of test circuit as we have plans to further refine the circuit once the code is known to be complete. The white line following was almost finished, and while not satisfactory, it can be fully realised by slightly altering the temporary circuit and code.
