To start the project off, the team gathered, introduced themselves and listed out their strengths and superpowers. The advantage with our team was that each one of the members had a diverse set of skills, hence that made assigning roles quicker. After deciding on certain aspects, I was assigned the role of Assistant project planner, researcher, assistant webmaster and graphic artist.

We then moved onto the next step which was to create a team page on Microsoft teams where that would be our platform for communication. The benefit of such a platform is that it was easy for everyone to assign, add, complete the tasks and mainly set personal/official deadlines. Furthermore, towards the end of the first session, we began to explore the requirements concerning the micro mouse, how we could build a simple, strong and creative one. The special feature requirement was of our group’s biggest interest with everyone giving their ideas of how the feature could be on the micro mouse.

Conor and I started working right away on the website creation. We took a very simple approach at first by designing our own layouts of the website on paper. After discussing and analysing each other’s designs, we made our final design on paper using a mixture of both our ideas. The next step was to find a web design platform; we did our research and came down to using Wix as our web design platform. Thereafter, choosing templates was the next big task as there were 1000’s of templates to choose from. We gave each other 2 days to shortlist our preferred templates and by the 3rd session, we were ready with our final template. We managed to design the website with the help of our final design on paper. However, because we were in the nascent stages of our project there was very little information on the website.

By the end of the third session, each member was given the task of preparing an individual blog so that it could be posted on to the website. Furthermore, I was given the responsibility to do a bit of research and collect valuable information on the theory behind the micro mouse, and to write a few lines on the website home page.
